This type of filter housing has the simplest method of cleaning. The accumulated dust is removed from the filter sleeve by a shaking mechanism.
In this filtration system the airflow goes from the inside of the sleeve towards the outside. Therefore, the membrane side of the textile has to be inward, so that dust cake can easily be removed from it.
The sleeve is usually round bottomed, with a hole in it (for fixing plate), or with a flatstitched bottom with a ring or fixing bar. Mostly, the seam on top has a snapring.
In most cases the filter sleeves are made out of needle felt, but it does occur that textile weave is used.
