Filter press cloths are used to squeeze a liquid through a cloth, leaving behind a dry residue, or "filter cake".  These cloths are manufactured in different kinds of materials, like polyester, polyamide and polypropylene.

Depending on the filtration proces, the type of cloth varies between monofilament, multifilament, staple fiber yarns, or a combination of them.
