Vacuum belt filters are conveyor belts made out of specific types of textile.  They are used to extract liquids out of a product by means of a vacuum underneath the conveyor belt.  This way, the dry product, or "cake", remains on top of the belt.  These belt are mainly used in pharmaceutical and chemical industry.

To obtain an optimal drying proces, these belts require to be robust and dimensionally stable to keep them running precisely "rectilinear", for which exist specifically designed fabrics.

We also pay attention to how the belt should be closed.  In most cases, this involves attaching connectors (galvanized metal, RVS, hastelloy or nylon) at both ends of the belt, which are joined together by means of a rod or pin.

It is important how the conveyor belt is driven and whether special guidance is needed at the sides of the vacuum belt filter.
